Ever since the second century after Christ, many within the church have claimed that the church has forever replaced Israel. In the middle of the second century, Justin Martyr in his famous Dialogue with Trypho, A Jew called the church “the true Israelitic race” on the basis that “Christ is the Israel.” Justin goes on to say, “Such are the words of Scripture; understand, therefore, that the seed of Jacob now referred to is something else, and now, as may be supposed, spoken of your people...
Those of you who know me personally know that I was born and raised in Texas. We have a saying in Texas: “Don’t mess with Texas!” This phrase was developed in the 1970s by the Texas Highway Department as an anti-liter slogan. The results were astounding as Israel tripled her land size. The six-day war took place fifty years ago this June and changed the map in the Middle East in less than a week...
The sweep of human history, as revealed in God’s Word, begins with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. History is moving toward the New Jerusalem, in the new heavens and new earth, which will become the eternal state of believers. There are a lot of important events in the interim, but it is important to know where we came from and where we are going...
